The Varsity Club story

During a very cold winter stretch of 2016, Varsity Club co-founder Rowan Richards booked indoor sports for the kids on the block to go run around. This quickly became a theme, a pretty expensive and inconvenient one. So began the search for a local (walkable) retail or commercial facility that could be transformed into a sports and recreational center for the neighborhood kids. The idea was to find a location and share the costs with other families on the block. The search proved to be more difficult than anyone imagined. After two years and much searching, the right location was finally identified. A 6000 ft2 one-story building that seemed seemed like the perfect facility. With some persistence the local bank agreed to a short term lease which eventually led to the purchase of the building four months later. Since then families, teams and trainers are keeping the space occupied and are very happy to have access to The Varsity Club.
